   The Oregon State Police (OSP) Fish and Wildlife Division is asking for the public's help in solving a recent elk poaching incident northeast of Oakridge.

   During the next 2 months Oregon State Police (OSP) will be testing a new resource offered by Flashnews (the Internet distribution service used by OSP to send out news releases) called 'FlashBite'.

(Note correction that this is the 7th poached elk in this area, not eighth as previously listed) 
   A third illegally poached elk was found in the Glendale area where two others were discovered Thursday morning as Oregon State Police (OSP) Fish and Wildlife troopers from the Roseburg Area Command office continue the investigation. Troopers are seeking the public's help to solve these cases which they believe are connected. The latest discovery is the seventh bull elk shot in open fields and left to waste in that area since the end of October 2007.

These are the fifth and sixth bull elk shot in open fields and left to waste in that area since the end of October 2007. Troopers believe the same person(s) are responsible for killing all the elk in this area over the past 8 months.
