Legislative Budget Upcoming Public Hearings
By host @ 12:53 PM :: 200 Views :: 0 Comments :: General News

Hi all, I am forwarding the email below to inform you about the upcoming public hearings to gather public input on the legislative budget. Please make plans to attend a hearing near you and use this opportunity to urge lawmakers to continue funding for :

Oregon State Police Wildlife Enforcement Activities
ODFW Youth Program Enhancements
ODFW's science based wildlife management strategies including predator control.

Representative Buckley is a puppet for the extremist animal rights organization Humane Society United States, and you can bet that many HSUS supporters will be attending to try to shut down hunting in any way possible and in particular, the Oregon Cougar Management Plan. Hunters MUST take the time to participate in this process or risk losing funding for wildlife management activities.

Senator Margaret Carter and Representative Peter Buckley, co-chairs of the Legislatures Joint Ways and Means Committee, announced they will hold eight public budget hearings around the state during the last two weeks of April.  The hearings will begin in Lincoln City and will include stops in Pendleton, Ontario, Portland, Bend, Eugene and Ashland, as well as a hearing at the State Capitol.

Members of the committee will also stop in Klamath Falls during their drive from the Bend to Jackson County.  While in Klamath Falls, the committee members intend to meet with local citizens individually throughout the city as they go about their day.

At each of the public hearings, attendees will receive a survey allowing them to provide input regarding proposed service cuts, potential revenue increases, and other critical budget issues.
